Membership Moments with Twistin' Ribbon

Meet Tesse Smitherman formerly of NLT Mums now re-branded as Twistin' Ribbon as of 2018 in Lago Vista, Texas. Tesse is a Texas native who grew up with the fabulous tradition we know as Homecoming Mums. She developed a passion early for floral design as she took her first class at the early age of 15.

Tesse is married to Jim Smitherman and they have two sons James 31 and Joseph 28. A woman of many hobbies she dabbles in many creative crafts such as making body products, wreathing and even organic gardening. She is also a dedicated distance running but she phrases it as distance jogging. Like most of us she is a glitter junkie and a ribbon hoard to boot.

Professionally Tesse is an assistant to a Professor at the University of Texas. Her ultimate business goal is to one day quit her day job and make mums full time.

If you ask her what words she would use to describe her style she used the words different and detailed. She adds her own special flair to each of her creations. She is gifted with her cutting machine creating personal touches on each of her mums. She is also very gifted with the art of braiding as you can see from each of her mums we have displayed below.

Her favorite part about making mums, putting it all together. Construction is the best part for Tesse. She is now in the process of a different kind of construction bringing Twistin' Ribbon to the world wide web with her very own website.
